rs1927911

Chromosome : 9 , Position: 117707776
Most conditions are affected by anywhere from hundreds to millions of genetic variants (SNPs). A single SNP usually has a minor contribution to a person’s overall genetic risk for a certain condition. That is why you shouldn't consider or act on a SNP in isolation. Instead, we use SNPs to determine polygenic risk scores (PRSs), which are the basis of most health reports.

More Information

The minor allele ''A'' was associated with a lower risk of myocardial infarction (MI) (odds ratio 0.88) [R].

GG genotype (ORadj=6.68) and the AG genotype (ORadj=2.73) increased the risk of prostate cancer (PC) [R].

AA genotype influences the susceptibility to adverse effects of traffic-related air pollution on childhood asthma (OR 4.4) [R].

Women with pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) who carried the GG genotype had significantly increased odds of C. trachomatis (OR, 3.7; P = .002) [R].

Individuals with the minor allele ''A'' had a 1.47- to 1.65-fold increased risk of normal tension glaucoma (NTG) [R].

Carriers of at least 1 minor allele ''A'' were consistently at an increased risk of developing allergic rhinitis (OR=1.24) [R].

Individuals carrying the AA genotype had a significantly decreased risk of gastric cancer (GC) (OR=0.37, P=0.001), compared with the GG genotype [R].

Significantly increased frequencies of the GG genotype and the ''G'' allele were observed in patients with type 2 diabetes
[R].
