How is a “gift” membership different than a regular membership?
When you purchase a “gift” SelfDecode DNA kit and membership, you won’t be asked to create an account profile until the DNA kit is registered. That way, the person receiving the DNA kit can enter their own information. When you sign up for a regular individual membership, you are asked to create the profile as a part of the checkout process.
Where will the DNA kit be shipped?
The kit will be shipped to the address that you enter during the checkout process, so that you can choose whether you’d like the kit shipped to you or directly to the gift recipient.
What should the gift recipient do once they receive the DNA kit?
The recipient should register their DNA kit at selfdecode.com/register and follow the instructions in the kit to provide their saliva sample. Then, they can mail their sample to us using the prepaid shipping label included in the kit.
When will the gift recipient receive their SelfDecode reports?
After the recipient has mailed their saliva sample back to us, results will be available in their secure online account at selfdecode.com within approximately 6 – 8 weeks.
How much does a Annual Subscription cost?
Your gift includes a DNA kit and membership for one year. After one year, the gift recipient will have the option to renew their membership at $99 /year.
