The Minor "C" allele is associated with:

  • obesity in patients using antipsychotics (Variant C allele) (R);
  • a protective effect against weight gain of patients with schizophrenia being treated with olanzapine (R);
  • metabolic syndrome in patients being treated with antipsychotics (R1,R2,R3);
  • lower likelihood of smoking (R);
  • Lower risk of developing ADHD (R);

Note: these studies are either contradicting each other, or the orientation is the issue.
