The T (minor) allele is associated with:

  • Possible increased risk of Coronary artery disease (found in Malays) (R). Other studies have shown that there is no association.
  • Possible change in systolic and diastolic blood pressure in alcoholics (R).
  • Possible increase in total cholesterol levels in subjects with TT allele (R) (R).
  • Decreased HDL cholesterol in a TT male Han Chinese group (R).
