The Minor "G" allele is associated with:
- Each G-allele is associated with 30% higher levels of Brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) in the blood (P<0.0001) (R).
- Reduced rate of cardiovascular readmission (p<0.0001) [R].
- Lower BNP 90-year-old men (BNP is a marker of heart failure) [R]. In patients hospitalized for acute Heart Failure, higher BNP values either at admission or at discharge is associated with worse outcomes (R).
- GG may cause more severe kidney problems (stenosis). GG allele occurred more frequently in patients with high-grade kidney hypertension/stenosis (blood vessel narrowing) [R].
