The CC genotype (P = 0.007) and the ''C'' allele (P = 0.017) were associated with a significant risk of colorectal cancer (CRC). Gender analysis showed that the CC genotype and ''C'' allele were also more frequent in female patients [R].

The GA genotype was found to be a risk factor for brucellosis occurring with greater frequency in patients than in controls (P= 0.002), while the GG genotype was a protective factor against brucellosis [R1, R2].
