Present in black tea and green tea (Thea sinensis) Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) is the principal catechin in tea from Camellia sinensis, the most consumed beverage worldwide (after water). Depending on brew time and temperature, a single cup of green tea may contain 100-200 mg EGCG.
